5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome stroller, awesome priceBy E. Egli on September 8, 2012Size: 12 in. (Front)Color: VanguardEvery time I’m out on a run or walk with my daughter, I am reminded that I need to review this because I love it so much.
When I was searching for a jogger, I strongly debated whether or not I should go with a more expensive, but used alternative. I found such a good deal on this one, though, and the reviews were almost all positive, so I went with it–and BOY am I glad I did.
I have been using the stroller for six months, not every day but a decent amount, almost all on dirt roads, and I have not noticed one bit of wear. The stroller really does handle like a dream…I have used more expensive strollers of my friends’ and quickly got frustrated with them because I was used to this one. The swivel/lock option of the front wheel is a must if you plan to use it anywhere but on the road/trail (that is a feature I found on BOB and Babytrend strollers but on very few in the in-between price range). The maneuverability is unbeatable.
The parent drink/key & phone tray is awesome.
You could spend four times as much on a stroller, but I really can’t imagine being any more satisfied with one.
It is a bit large when folded up, but it fits in my trunk or the back seat beside the carseat just fine. 5.0 out of 5 stars best value, lasts wellBy Mrs. S. on October 27, 2013Size: 12 in. (Front)Color: VanguardI have trained for and completed two half marathons and a 10k with this stroller. Nothing has broken, nothing has worn out, and it still works really well. This is worth every penny and then some. My daughter is now going on four (we bought this as part of the travel system when she was born) and it’s still in great shape. Even after being stored outside on the porch for two of those years (and two years in a garage) it is in great shape. We do most of our training with our border collie, and it’s easy to steer this stroller while also dealing with the leash.
The only negative thing I can say about it is that it’s bulky. Folded, it won’t fit in our car’s trunk (hybrid, so a small trunk) but it does fit in the back seat of our Ridgeline if we fold the small end of the seat up. But if you really want to actually jog with it, this is great. I have put a LOT of miles on it, and it has held up unbelievably well. If I could change one thing it would be to have the upper cupholders be a little wider to hold bigger water bottles (only one skinny one of our many, many bottles actually fits in the cupholder).
4.0 out of 5 stars good for the price, but dont expect quality like the more expensive onesBy Geno on October 3, 2014Size: 12 in. (Front)Color: VanguardI’ve rated a Chicco Active3 and the Graco Click Connect joggers the same 4 stars but why if those others should be better.
Because for what it is, and the price it’s for. It’s great.
NO it’s not better than the more expensive ones, but for the price you pay, its a great value. And if value is what you are after, you can’t go wrong. Just don’t try to say its better than the more expensive ones.
This has it all, the jogger design, air filled tires, locking and swivel front wheel, can lock the rear. parent tray, baby tray, adjustable canopy/visor/shade. All for a low price.
Now, where you can really tell the difference compared to say the Graco Click Connect Jogger, which is $50-60 more, or compared to the more elite strollers,, is if you have them all side by side and next to each other. You can’t do it from looking online at the pictures.
The Baby Trend line, just doesn’t have the same quality. Not to say the quality is bad, but it is not as good as the others. If you had all of em together to compare and feel, The materials on the Baby Trend didn’t seem as plush, and the feeling of the surface of the materials felt cheaper. The visor/shade/canopy was much thinner and flimsy. The metal/aluminum wasn’t as thick or solid compared to the rest. It is very obvious. if you are more of a serious jogger, or want better piece of mind, pay a bit more. But if you aren’t, and you just do brisk walks, why pay for more that you wont really get to use the advantages–then you have an option here.
FYI, THERE ARE NO SPRINGS SHOCKS on this, there IS ONE Baby Trend jogger that does, but its not sold at Amazon. It is the Baby Trend Velocity Ultra Lite Jogger Stroller – Bumble Bee. This is the only one that has all the same features as the usual Baby Trend Joggers, but has shocks/springs for better ride, and not that much more .
